What is RoliBox?

RoliBox is an end-to-end service providing an enclosed, rolling container designed to be packed with your belongings. Unlike any mobile storage solution available, the container can be brought directly into your home!

Will it fit all my stuff? What about my furniture? 

Our container can fit a lot! We have developed two initial sizes, which can fit a bicycle, TV, or small appliances. Most importantly you're not limited to just one box - order as many boxes as you think you'll need and pay for only what you use.

How big is it, exactly?

Our base model container has interior dimensions of 46" (length), 46" (height), and 22" (depth). We think this is a great size for small moves because that's about the same total space inside an average SUV. Here are some more examples of things you can fit inside: 

  • A bicycle

  • A mini-fridge

  • Small pieces of furniture

  • Several large moving boxes

  • A full wardrobe of hanging clothes

  • A large TV

  • Rolled rugs

Please do not pack the following items:

  • Perishables, houseplants, hazardous materials, pets, or people. (Please see our container lease agreement for a detailed list).

Our standard size container holds an enormous 27 cubic feet. That’s the same size as 10 large suitcases, or 20 airline size carry-on suitcases.

Does this make sense for my tight budget? 

Yes! The cost of our service is less than the all-in cost of renting a truck or hiring movers, but much more convenient. We drop-off the container inside your home so you can pack yourself to save money on your own schedule. You don't have to drive, pay for fuel, worry about truck parking, shared loading docks, or drop-off and pickup times. For more detail, see our services for pricing.

Will the box be able to fit into an elevator & around tight corners? 

Yes! If you can have a sofa delivered, our box will fit. It can roll through any standard doorway and into nearly every elevator. Swiveling wheels allow our fulfillment team to carefully maneuver it around, especially tight corners.

Will it arrive on time at my new place? 

Yes, you choose a drop-off time. We are able to deliver within a 1-2 hour window. We also offer short and long-term storage with automated tracking updates, in case you have a lease or closing date that doesn't line up perfectly with your move.

I'm packing and realized I can't fit everything into one box! What now? 

Don't panic! We can get you another container (or containers) delivered within 24 hours. 

What about my bed & sofa?

A move is a great time to think about getting new furniture, especially if you think you'll be staying awhile. In our experience the more we moved, the smaller our moves became. When we really started looking at the cost, it was usually better to skip bringing that old couch and mattress along for the ride. But if you still don't want to part ways, we've got you covered! We'll happily coordinate a furniture move for an additional fee. Bottom line - if it doesn't fit, we'll make it work!

How long do I have to pack?

As long as you want! In our experience time pressure is a huge stress during moves. You probably don't need to hear it from us - trying to unpack a rental car or truck to return it before a deadline is the last thing you want to be worried about. That's why your RoliBox lease never expires, ever. Just schedule or change a pickup time when you think you'll need it. 

Is it secure?

Very! RoliBox offers several advantages over traditional DIY solutions such as cardboard boxes and playing "car-tetris": 

  • Theft resistance with locking doors

  • Moisture resistance

  • Resistant to pests such as bugs and rodents

Where does it go? 

When the RoliBox fulfillment team picks up your container, you can be notified of its progress in real-time. For storage, the box will be sent to one of our secure indoor storage facilities.

Unlike traditional self-storage, these facilities are not open to the public so you can rest assured your belongings are being held in total security. If desired, you may access your box at one of our facilities by making an appointment during regular operating hours. 

Can you move me to another state? 

Yes! We can ship individual cardboard boxes through our partners. We offer the same door-to-door service to deliver your packing supplies then pick up your boxes.

At the moment we cannot ship our RoliBox containers out of state - Look forward to this coming in the future!

Can it be delivered upstairs? 

At the moment, no. RoliBox is intended for residents of buildings with elevator access or ground-level access homes and apartments. However, if you happen to have some stairs at your move out residence or destination, we are happy to unload the container and deliver the contents to you for a fee. We are also working on some very cool solutions to offer the ability to climb stairs - stay tuned!
